Everyone can help to support the recovery of nature locally and globally. Take a look at the suggestions below.
There are many things you can do for nature in your area - no action is too small to make a difference. A good place to start is your garden or even a window box or planter. Doing less in your garden actually benefits wildlife - leaving some or all of your lawn to grow long through the summer, not using weedkillers or slug pellets, leaving seedheads and stalks for overwintering insects to shelter in - will all make a difference. When planning what you can do, think in terms of providing food, water, access and shelter - these are the basic needs of wildlife ( and humans too!)
If you have seen or heard about action taken locally to support nature recovery, take a few moments to let your Councillor, local authority staff or the people involved in the project that you support what they are doing. You might write to your AM or Councillor, ask them to pass on your comments. Staff often only hear the complaints and negative comments about projects being implemented.
If you see something on social media that you support, leave a positive comment and maybe share it to people you think would be interested.
